This special font allows you to create logos simply by pressing a combination of keys on your keyboard. Works with most word processors and drawing programs. Here's how it works:
1. Start by selecting the "InstantLogo" font from your font menu.
2. Select an appropriate type size such as 120 points in order for you to view and edit your logo easily. You may change the size of your logo after you are satisfied with your design.
3. You begin creating a logo by pressing an uppercase character or numeral (such as the "R" or "5" character). This gives you a simple panel that makes up the basic shape of your logo. There are 36 panels in all--from a simple square to stars and lightning bolts.
2. Notice that your cursor hasn't moved ahead of your first character. It is waiting for you to add a SECOND character--a masking pattern that will overlay your basic shape.
3. All the masking patterns are located in the lowercase characters (26 in all). Before you type a lowercase character, make sure to change the color of the next character to WHITE. Now you can type a lowercase character such as the "g" or "s" to complete your logo.
4. THAT'S IT. You could use the "style" menu in your program to explore other options. Or use the panels or masking patterns by themselves. There are literally THOUSANDS of possibilities.
5. To fully take advantage of this font, use it in either Illustrator, Canvas, or Freehand. These programs have an option to convert characters to paths. This allows you to type out your logo, convert it to paths, and fine-tune it further.
